Tornado Shelters - Safe Rooms - In-Ground - Above Ground - Who we are and why we do it.

Just to prove that you can always get more than the number that FEMA recommends in a shelter, 14 White County high school students fit neatly into a 4X6 shelter at the fair!

Tornado Shelter Systems, Inc., is an Arkansas company, formerly owned by Randy D. Parsley and Robert W. Taylor, lifelong Arkansas residents who recently completed certification from the National Weather Service as Certified Severe Weather Storm Spotters.

In August of 2010 the company was sold to lifelong friend and employee Alisa Smith and her husband Jim of Austin Arkansas. Randy and Robert remain on the technical and advisory board of Tornado Shelter Systems Inc.

The goal of Tornado Shelter Systems, Inc., is to provide Arkansas residents with protection from the severe weather and storms that are all too frequent in the state. We are NOT an out-of-state company that will be here today and gone tomorrow. A significant amount of research went into the decision of what products Tornado Shelter Systems, Inc., would offer. While there are several types of tornado shelters available, Tornado Shelter Systems, Inc., took the time to visit the factories of several products to find the very best. After visiting the manufacturers and studying data provided by both FEMA and the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, it became clear that shelters which were under roof were much safer than outdoor shelters. These shelters are much more likely to be used when a storm approaches, as there is no need to venture into hail, lightning, rain, and high winds to access the shelter.
